Make your Climate Action Plan – 3 Levels of Action

 3 levels of action

From all the future actions that you have heard, which level are the actions do you want to take.

In order to reach the Paris Agreement, actions are needed at 3 levels: individual, collective and systemic.

You can take the example of adopting a plant-based diet. At an individual level, it represents a personal behaviour change and change of daily habit. At collective level, it could be raising awareness about plant-based diets and joining relevant organizations to have a collective impact. At systems level, it could be advocating for a policy that makes it mandatory to include plant-based diets in schools. Which level of action has the most impact? Which level of action takes the most time?

A few examples for your reference:

●Personal: bicycle, plant-based diet, consume less, climate education…
●Collective: join a youth-led organization, organise Movers Workshop (or other consciousness-raising groups), impact-driven career, climate strike…
●Policy: advocacy, working at UNDP, attending climate negotiations
